About us

Does the translation
protect the inventor's vision?

TTH has specialized in patent translation since its foundation and has responded to the detailed needs of our clients as well as the quality. Patent translation protects the inventor's technology as well as his or her vision. Unless the translated patent follows the inventor's intentions, it can be infringed by other patents. In order to correctly share technologies with the rest of the world, high quality is required. We take pride in being able to prove what a truly cost-effective translation is, from the basics of accuracy to the word extraction that dwells in the details.
To this end, we have established a training environment in which we can proudly claim to specialize in patents, and provide services that are distinctly different from the following practices of the translation industry: Cheap translations result in poor translations. We are committed to providing translations that reflect the trend of patents through daily practice. Attorneys in the U.S., Europe, and other parts of the world also highly value TTH's quality, and we apply the knowledge we gain from around the world to our translations.

Quality That Saves Your Time.
Error-Free, Time-Saving Solutions.

We are proud to say that this commitment to quality is not easily followed, and it is no exaggeration to say that our 30 years of study are single-mindedly dedicated to achieving no errors. It seems that clients who support us are uniformly aware of it, but we are working on a check system that is similar to a triple check, based on a double check.
The number of steps required to maintain quality is 15, and this quality-oriented mindset permeates not only our in-house translators but also our freelance translators. Various study sessions are held to provide mutual lectures on technologies and how to deal with difficult source texts, and information and issues are shared with the freelance translators. Translators who strive to improve themselves every day until they reach the standards required by TTH are the front-line professionals. In this way, TTH and our exclusive translators are linked by a bond of mutual trust in their pursuit of quality.

Message from the president

On July 15, 2023, TTH celebrated its 30th anniversary thanks to your support. We would like to thank all of our customers and translators who have supported us in various ways, and we would like to reiterate our sincere gratitude.

TTH was founded by Katsumi Nakano as a translation company specializing in patents, based in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan. At a time when quality was completely dependent on the translator, our translations, which were carefully checked one by one, were valued as having high quality, and combined with the fact that our unit price was lower than the average market price at the time, we were able to grow significantly. Although there have been difficult times, such as the Lehman Shock and the Great East Japan Earthquake, we have continued our business for 30 years together with companies that continue to innovate and patent firms that have steadily expanded their business.

Thirty years ago, in 1993, Windows 95 was not on the market and cell phones were not widespread, but after the spread of the Internet and smartphones, we are now entering the age of AI. Although there are now fears that "the time when AI takes over human jobs will come," there is still room for human intervention in any job. What is needed to secure human jobs is skills of "ability," "knowledge," and "experience" that are greater than those of AI, and a mentality of "continuously accumulate," "never give up until the end," etc., which AI does not possess.

Our patent translation industry is also at a major crossroads. At present, the average AI translation score for patent translation is just below 50 points out of 100 points, but one day it will be 70 or 80 points. What is required at that time is a translation company that complements and refines quality. We have developed the skills and mentality to do just that over the past 30 years.

We will never be satisfied with the status quo and will continue to seek for the one and only "quality," and we look forward to your further support.
